This turkey day we’re thankful for the Thanksgiving trifecta: Not-too-crazy family, excessive amounts of food and great booze.
While the turkey’s roasting, before the touch football game and throughout the poker tournament we’ll be sipping on these. This year’s official Meriwether Thanksgiving Cocktail.
Combine over ice in your favorite shaker:
½ cup cold Oolong tea (We used Market Spice loose leaf tea; brewed ahead of time and then chilled.)
4-5 ounces of bourbon
¾ ounce simple syrup (preferably homemade)
Strained juice of 1 whole lemon
A pinch of sea salt
Shake vigorously. Strain and serve over ice. Garnish with a lemon twist.
Drink. Enjoy. Repeat.
